About Halton Region Master Gardeners

The Halton Region Master Gardeners is a member of Master Gardeners of Ontario (MGOI Inc.) a registered non-profit organization. Our volunteers are experienced gardeners who have studied horticulture extensively and regularly upgrade our skills through technical training.  With this training and continuing education, Master Gardeners provide expert horticultural  advice to the gardening public.

20170607_191914Established in 1986, the Halton Region Master Gardeners are a group of enthusiastic gardeners living in Ancaster, Burlington, Dundas, Georgetown, Hamilton, Milton and Oakville. We have diverse horticultural backgrounds and love to share our passion for gardening.   In 2012, we were fortunate to be able to welcome several members of the Oakville Master Gardeners group when that group disbanded.

Our members volunteer at local garden tours,  shows,  special community garden projects. We help host speakers at the Royal Botanical Gardens and staff their hotline to answer your gardening questions. Every year we volunteer and speak at the Royal Botanical Gardens Home Show, the spring Home Show in Oakville and the Canada Blooms event in Toronto. You can also find us at the farmers markets in Dundas and Burlington.
