Congratulations to Our 2026 Monarch Award Recipients

The Monarch Awards celebrate Hamilton front-yard gardens that help support biodiversity through native plants, habitat, thoughtful planting, and sustainable gardening practices.

This year, gardeners across Hamilton continued to create and care for spaces that provide food, shelter, and places to raise young for pollinators, birds, and other wildlife. We are delighted to recognize the gardens that reached the Monarch level in 2026.

We also congratulate the 33 other participating gardens that achieved the Starting the Journey, Caterpillar, and Chrysalis levels. Some are just beginning their ecological-gardening journey, while others are building on earlier efforts to create gardens with an increasing diversity of plants and habitat for wildlife. We hope that these gardeners will apply again in the coming years because ecological Gardening is a Journey.

Together, these gardens are helping create a more connected and resilient community for nature in Hamilton.

Thank you to all participants, as well as the Monarch Awards Team members who visited gardens and helped make the program possible.
